Man Dies Near Nechanitz

A Houston man died in a crash on FM 2145 south of Nechanitz early Monday morning, Aug. 5.

The wreck happened at approximately 3:09 a.m. about 750 ft. south of Rauch Rd. Trooper Chase Grillet investigated the crash. According to his preliminary report, 40-year-old Spencer Sabel of Houston was driving a blue 2019 Ford Mustang.

The report said Sabel was driving too fast when he entered a curve in the road. The vehicle went straight and hit a drainage ditch.

The car rolled over and flipped multiple times before coming to rest.

Sabel died at the scene.
