Man Arrested in LG For Shooting Stepson During Altercation
La Grange Police arrested a local man following a shooting in the Northpointe neighborhood early Saturday morning, June 14. Police Chief David Gilbreath said that around 2 a.m. on Saturday, 55-year-old Grover Greene had gotten into an argument with his estranged wife at her residence on Northpointe Ave. Gilbreath said Greene’s stepson intervened in the altercation. Greene pulled out a gun and shot his stepson multiple times, Gilbreath said.
Fayette County EMS transported the victim to an Austin hospital, and he was still in the hospital on Sunday, Gilbreath said.
Officers arrested Greene for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in jail with no bond. La Grange Police Investigator Troy Stevens and the Texas Rangers are conducting the investigation.
Gilbreath wished to thank the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for assistance, especially Deputies Meagher and Pritchard, who responded to the call alongside La Grange officers.
