The La Grange Juneteenth Committee announced a full slate of activities scheduled for their “Unity in the Community” Juneteenth Celebration on the weekend of June 20-22.

Events kick off with a Gospel Music Show on Friday, June 20, at 6 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange. Performers will include Mrs. Debra Stewart, the New Soul Invaders and the Original Soul Invaders. Pastor Roy Green will be the M.C. of this event.

A Juneteenth Parade will take place through downtown La Grange on Saturday, June 21. Floats need to line up in front of H-E-B at 9:30 a.m. and the parade will start around 10:30 a.m. Rev. Andrew Stafford and Lorenza Crosby will be the Grand Marshalls of the parade. A free-will donation meal will follow at Randolph Recreation Center. Lorenza Crosby will give a talk about his 90 years on Earth as a man of color. There will be prizes as well.

On Sunday, June 22, a Community Service will take place at Randolph Recreation Center, starting at 2 p.m., featuring Pastor Simmons from Peaceful Rest Church in La Grange. Come out and praise God with a joyful spirit.
