Locals to Walk the Runway for ARTS Fundraiser

Arts for Rural Texas is hosting its inaugural fashion show called Runway 159. This fun, Texas chic event will feature very wearable clothing and accessories designed or curated by local or regional designers and worn by local celebrities.

The event will be held Thursday, October 17, at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and the fashion show begins at 6 p.m..

Sally Reynolds, Round Top author and arts enthusiast, will be recognized as the Runway 159 Style Icon. The author of “Tid and Tad, A Tale of True Friendship” has also written historical books on Round Top and spent many years as a fine art curator for some of the largest companies in Houston. “This recognition is not about me,” said Sally. “It’s about art. My heart has always been drawn to the visual arts and musical performances.”

Models are real women from Fayette County: Zuzanna Kastleman, Julie Stroup, Julie Robertson, Gina Hillock, Tara Royer Steel, Wendy Burks, Susan Donnelly, Linda Jones, Linda Plant, Chris Hallman, Linda O’Neal, Susan Ashcroft, Jan Carroll, Judy Stribling, Meagan Bueche, Jamie Moreau, Reagan Moreau, Stevie Thompson, Lilla Sivek, Debbie Meyer, Leslie Penello, Dena Wren-Mumford, Dawn Gervais, Skylar Schanen, Shanna Schanen, Melissa Roberts, Mazie Leftwich, Lisa Mayer, Laurie Lowery, Carla Michalka, Pam Brooks, Emily Brooks, Sandy Miller, Kathy Young, and Clemencia Larimore.

Models will be wearing clothing and accessories from Cheeky Vintage, Heidi Houston, Margarita Mercantile, Richard Schmidt Studio & Gallery, Sapana, Simple Rags, and Tutu & Lilli. “Fashion design is definitely an art, and I’m so thankful to have a career that involves some form of art,” said Tina Davis, owner of Cheeky Vintage and clothing designer. The Runway 159 committee is chaired by interior designer, Cathy Hutton, and includes volunteers from Fayette County: Lea Ann Walker, Kim Garwood, Alisa Rowe, Linda Jones, Pam Brooks, and Anne Mitchell.
