Local Church Launches New Name

Sunday, March 23, was a monumental day for one local church—a day filled with celebration and an exciting new chapter in their story. Pastor Kolbe Hill and the leadership of The Remnant Church have spent over a year in prayer, planning, and leading the church community to not only honor their history but also to embrace its future. It was clear that this was much more than a name change. It was an embrace of fresh vision and a new identity, a launch into the future as Bridge Church.

During the church service, the new church name and mission were unveiled, and two teenagers made their faith public through water baptism. Following the service, the celebration continued with a ribbon-cutting and cake.

In the weeks leading up to the name change, Pastors Kolbe Hill and Chad Hammons shared a series of messages called, “Bridge Builders,” where one of the main takeaways was: “Jesus built a bridge for us, and He’s calling us to build bridges for others.”

Here’s a look at the heart behind Bridge Church: It’s strange. With a few clicks and finger taps, we can connect with others instantly. We do it dozens of times a day (or an hour; no judgment).

But if it’s so easy to connect nowadays, why does it feel like we’re living with more barriers and divides than ever before?

And it’s not just other people dividing over the next big cultural or political topic. It’s us feeling disconnected from ourselves—like we don’t know who we truly are or what we were created for.

There are gaps—big ones. If your life feels full of these breaks and barriers— like there’s a missing link at the center of it all—you’re not alone. We’ve felt the exact same way.

But for us, all of that changed when we met Jesus.

He taught us that we were created for authentic connection with God and people, and he showed us how to find fresh purpose in restoring broken connections for ourselves and others.

So we started asking ourselves: what would it look like to live in a world with more bridges?

We think it looks like more people connected to a loving God.

More safe relationships to heal and grow with.

And more people empowered to build bridges for others.

That’s why we’re here. That’s what we aim for. That’s who we are at Bridge Church.
