LHS One Act Play to Put on Trio of Town Performances
La Grange High School One-Act Play wrapped up their successful 2026-2027 competition season with the production of “Hansel and Gretel: The Little Brother and the Little Sister” by Max Bush, and are proud to showcase their hard work and talent to the community on Friday, May 8 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 9 at noon and 7 p.m. at the LGISD Performing Arts Center located at 656 E. Travis Street.
Hansel and Gretel is a classic German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm about two young siblings abandoned by their parents in a dark and treacherous forest. The children’s harrowing journey, involving a mysterious white bird, leads them to a fantastical garden banquet near a house made of gingerbread where they are ultimately captured by a cannibalistic witch, whom the children outsmart and slay to save themselves and escape with treasure.
This season’s LHS One-Act Players include students Luke Anderson, Lee Blanco, Raven Chumley, Chloi Coufal, Jackson Elliott, Brinley Freedman, Lynn Harrison, Molly Hudson, KJ Karstedte, Sarita Kinsey, Jeremiah Lenhart, Carolina Lira, Whitaker Samples and Ella Smith; Directed by Ms. Alizabeth Calhoun.
