LGPD Weekly Report Includes Disturbances, Traffic Arrest and Animal Complaints
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 17-24 .
Animal Complaint
On May 18, Animal Control officer Leslie Yezakl responded to the 1000 block of Camp for a dog at large.
On May 20, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 400 block of E. Eblin where a caller picked up a loose dog on Hwy. 71 and needed it transported to the animal shelter.
On May 23, Officer Adrian Ortiz was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Madison for an animal complaint.
Accident
On May 18, Officer Meinardus responded to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson for a two-vehicle accident with no injuries. Civil
Matter
On May 20, Officer Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Horton for a civil dispute over ownership of a vehicle.
On May 22, Officer Jeffrey Archerd was dispatched to the 300 block of Northpointe for a civil matter.
Chemical Spill
On May 24, Sgt. Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Camp regarding a fire hydrant that was leaking.
Citizen Assist
On May 20, Officer Jose Garza responded to the 400 block of W. Travis for a citizen assist.
On May 20, Officer Garza responded to the 2000 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a citizen assist.
On May 20, Officer Meinardus took a call from an individual in the 300 bock of FM 609 who reported septic, or sewer system was backing up and caused his barn to collapse. City utilities were notified.
On May 23, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 300 block of E. Fannin regarding tree limbs growing around a communication line.
Disturbance
On May 17, Officer Garza responded to the 300 block of N. Horton in reference to a verbal disturbance.
On May 21, Officer Garza responded to the 500 block of E. Guadalupe for a verbal disturbance.
On May 21, Officer Meinardus responded to the 800 block of E. Travis for a verbal disturbance on the cart’s bus.
Identity Theft
On May 18, Officer Meinardus took a call of possible identity theft. No Monetary loss discovered.
On May 20, Officer John Wostarek spoke with complainant in the 700 block of E. Milam regarding identity theft.
Juvenile Complaint
On May 21, Officer Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Pecan regarding a juvenile complaint.
Prostitution
On May 24, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business regarding solicitation of prostitution.
Public Intoxication
On May 24, Sgt. Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Ella regarding an intoxicated subject. Traffic Stop
On May 24, Officer Ortiz conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of E. Travis and made an arrest for driving with an invalid license with previous convictions and suspension without financial responsibility.
Soliciting without a Permit
On May 21, Officer Meinardus responded to the 500 block of E. Fannin for soliciting without a permit. Officer advised them the permit was required. Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On May 18, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 1400 block of W. Hwy. 71 Business for a suspicious person.
On May 19, Officer Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of E. Pearl regarding a suspicious vehicle.
On May 20, Officer Garza responded to the 700 block of N. Washington for a suspicious person.
On May 23, Officer Ortiz initiated a suspicious vehicle check in the 100 block of Joe Hoeffer Circle. Unlawful Carrying of Weapon
On May 19, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business regarding unlawful carrying of a weapon. Welfare Check
On May 18, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 300 block of Northpointe regarding a welfare check.
On May 19, Officer Ortiz was dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Madison regarding a welfare check.
On May 22, Officer Wostarek was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a welfare check.
