LGISD to Upgrade Network Infrastructure

La Grange ISD participates in the Universal Service Administration Company Schools and Libraries E-rate program. Because of this, the district is eligible to purchase network-related services at a reduced price. The E-rate discount this year is 85% which is an increase of 5% from last year. There are two categories that funds can be applied for. Category 1 provides for internet access for all district buildings. Category 2 provides network structure for student instructional areas.

This year there are three Category 2 projects. There are no Category 1 projects.

The first project will update 33 network switches in the district. The cost: $132,642.00$112,745,70 (85% discount) for a final cost of $19,896.30.

The second project will add additional outdoor network access points. The cost: $76,310.00-$64,863.50 (85% discount) for a final cost of $11,446.50.

The third project will refresh/ replace network UPS (uninterruptible power supply) units. The cost: $62,239.00$52,903.15 (85% discount) for a final cost of $9,335.85.

The total cost to the district for all three projects will be $40,678.65.
