LGISD Staff To Get Raises

Each year the La Grange I.S.D. Administration reviews the pay of the district’s current employees and makes a pay raise recommendation to the board for staff. Current pay schedules are analyzed and assessed to determine the external market analysis and includes pay ranges of peer school districts and the analysis of the district’s ability to recruit, hire, and retain quality employees to positions. The Board approved the following recommendations for salary adjustments for teachers, administrators, professional staff, paraprofessional/clerical and auxiliary staff who were employed in the District for the 2023-2024 school year.

• Teachers, librarians, and school nurse will receive a 2% pay increase off the hiring range mid-point of 13 years. The increase will be $1,000.

• Other professional staff including counselors, administrators, special education assessment staff and directors will receive a 2% increase of their paygrade mid-point,

• Food Service/paraprofessional staff will receive a 3% increase of their paygrade midpoint.

• Auxiliary Staff including clerical staff, transportation, and maintenance will receive a 2% increase of their paygrade mid-point.

• The District will increase the health insurance contribution from $395/month to $445/ month.

• A one-time retention stipend of $250 to all returning staff employed in the District for the 2023-2024 school year to be in October, and another one-time stipend of $500 to all staff employed by the District on Nov. 1 to be paid before the Thanksgiving Break.

• The Employee Compensation Plan for the La Grange Independent School District highlights the district pay plan, job classifications, general pay increases, the placement of new hires, and stipends.

The salary recommendations considered will cost the district about $695,000 (increase in pay, district match of Medicare, health insurance premium contributions, and two one-time stipends.)
