LG Replacing Yield Signs with Stop Signs at Three Intersections
The La Grange City Council approved a request from the Police Department to replace yield signs at several intersections in town with stop signs.
Police Chief David Gilbreath made the request at the City Council meeting on Monday, June 24. The intersections where the yield signs will be replaced are E. Fannin St. at N. Jackson St., E. Fannin St. at N. Franklin St., and W. Colorado St. at N. River St.
Gilbreath said Fannin St. has become more of a thoroughfare when Horton St. backs up with traffic in the morning, especially during the school year. In addition, he said that traffic has increased on W. Colorado St. and N. River St. ever since Bluebonnet Trails moved into their new offices on Travis St.
“This change is necessary due to increased traffic at these intersections,” Gilbreath said.
The Council unanimously approved the request.
