LG Police Stay Busy Last Week of May

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of On May 22-29.

Animal Complaint

On May 22, Officer John Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Lowerline in regard to animal complaint.

On May 22, Officer Thomas Keeney responded to the 800 block of S. Vail in response to a found dog. The owner took possession of the dog.

On May 22, Wostarek responded to the 700 block of E. Guadalupe for a buzzard in the yard. Officer arrived and the buzzard flew off.

On May 24, Animal Control picked up an injured deer in the 200 block of Svoboda.

On May 27, Officer Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Horton for loose dogs. Officer arrived and dogs had left.

On May 28, Officer Mitchell Maxwell was dispatched to the area of N. Monroe and E. Fannin in regards to an animal complaint.

On May 28, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Main in regard to an animal complaint.

Accident

On May 23, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for an accident in the parking lot.

On May 24, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of E. Travis for a one-vehicle accident.

On May 26, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of N. Washington for an accident.

Alarm

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 600 block of S. Jefferson in regard to an alarm.

On May 27, Meinardus responded to the 700 block of E. Travis for an alarm.

Burglary

On May 22, Keeney responded the 200 block of S. Ellinger for a report of someone breaking into a room.

On May 28, Meinarus responded to the 500 block of Cindy Ln. for a burglary.

Citizen Assist

On May 28, Maxwell was dispatched to One St. Mark’s Place in regard to a subject that was refusing to leave.

Civil Matter

On May 28, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass where complainant reported accidental damage to her property.

Disturbance

On May 22, Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of Cindy Ln. for a disturbance. Subjects were separated for the night.

On May 26, Keeney responded to the 100 block of E. Cedar in response to a family disturbance.

On May 26, Maxwell was dispatched to the area of S. Franklin and E. Pecan in regard to subjects in the roadway arguing.

On May 28, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Colorado for male and female arguing.

Agency Assist

On May 25, Maxwell assisted agency in the 100 block of N. Washington.

Fraud

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to fraud.

On May 27, Meinardus took a report of fraudulent activity in the 500 block of E. Travis.

Juvenile Complaint

On May 27, Officer Curtis Zwahr received information in regards to a juvenile complaint in the 600 block of S. Madison.

Motorist Assist

On May 25, Meinardus responded to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business for a car broke down in the roadway.

Possession

On May 24, Office Robin Emmons took possession of a marijuana vape pen the 800 block of S. Vail.

Suspicious Person/Vehicle

On May 23, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of W. Camp for a suspicious person walking in the alley.

On May 24, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of N. Washington for a suspicious person.

On May 24, Meinardus responded to the 1000 block of N. Jefferson for a suspicious person in the parking lot.

On May 24, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 600 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass for a suspicious person.

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Franklin in regards to a suspicious male.

On May 25, Keeney responded to the 300 block of S. Monroe in regard to a suspicious vehicle. Vehicle left before officers’ arrival.

On May 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Monroe in regard to a suspicious person. Officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to locate anyone in the area.

On May 27, Meinardus responded to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 Bypass for a subject panhandling. Subject was gone upon officers arrival.

On May 27, Meinardus responded to the 300 block of W. Travis for a suspicious person.

On May 28, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of E Travis for possibly intoxicated subjects. Officer had family pick up subjects.

On May 28, Maxwell spoke with subject in regards to suspicious circumstance.

On May 28, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Cynthia Ln. in regard to a suspicious vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle

On May 27, Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of W. Guadalupe in regards to a stolen vehicle.

Traffic Hazard

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Jefferson in regard to a traffic hazard.

Welfare Check

On May 22, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of E. Travis in regards to a welfare check on a female subject. Officer arrived and female stated they were fine.

On May 23, Meinardus responded to the 3000 block of Hwy. 77 to check on a subject by the road.

On May 24, Currington responded to the 400 block of W. Colorado for a sleeping subject. Officer checked on the subject and he was fine.

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Travis for a welfare check.

On May 25, Maxwell was dispatched to the 500 block of Cindy Ln. for a welfare check.

On May 26, Keeney responded to the 600 block of S. Jefferson for a welfare check.

Warrant Arrest

On May 22, Keeney stopped in the 700 block of N. Washington to find out if a bicycle had been returned. Officer arrested individual for active warrants.

Miscellaneous

On May 25, Keeney was checking security in the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business and spoke with a subject who had an active protective order out with the location as protected.

On May 28, Meinardus responded to One St. Mark’s where caller requested an officer to have subjects leave.
