LG Man Dies in Easter Morning Car Accident

A La Grange man died in a crash in Muldoon on Easter morning, April 20.

Investigators believe the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. A railroad crew discovered the vehicle on the side of the road around 6 a.m. near the intersection of FM 2237 and FM 154 at the railroad tracks in Muldoon.

According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 29-year-old Luis Torres of La Grange was traveling east on FM 2237 in a 2011 Hyundai Elantra. The report said the vehicle failed to stop at the intersection of FM 154. The vehicle hit the embankment, went airborne and rolled over. Torres died in the crash.

The report said Torres was not wearing a seat belt. In addition, investigators suspect alcohol played a role in the crash, but it was still under investigation.
