La Grange Police Report

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Jan. 30 through On Feb. 6.

Animal Complaint

On Jan. 30, Patrolman John Wostarek responded to the 100 block of E. Travis for an animal complaint.

On Feb. 2, Patrolman Justin Koehne spoke with an individual in the 1400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to a animal complaint.

On Feb. 4, Patrolman Kevin Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of S. College for a loose Yorkie dog running down the road, officer arrived and could not locate the animal.

Alarm

On Jan. 30, Wostarek was dispatched to the 2000 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to an alarm.

On Feb. 2, Patrolman Curtis Zwahr responded to an alarm in the 200 block of W. State Hwy.71 Business for an alarm. Employee had accidentally set it off.

On Feb. 4, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100-block of E. Rose Mayer for a fire alarm.

On Feb. 4, Wostarek was dispatched to the 2200 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business in regard to an alarm. Officer found the building to be secure.

On Feb. 4, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of S. Franklin in regard to an alarm. Officer arrived and found the building to be secure.

On Feb. 5, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call for an alarm in the 600 block of S. Jefferson. Officer upon arrival found all secure.

Accident

On Jan. 31, Anderson worked a two-vehicle accident in the 2100 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business. No injuries

On Feb. 1, Currington responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 300 block of S. Franklin. One individual was transported by EMS.

On Feb. 1, Anderson responded to the 900 block of S. Jefferson in regard to a vehicle that had struck a deer. The damage was minor and a blue form was issued.

Civil Matter

On Feb. 4, Patrolman Brett Meinardus spoke with individual in regard to a child custody matter. Officer advised him that it was a civil matter and should contact his attorney.

Disturbance

On Feb. 3, Zwahr responded to the 900 block of N. Horton for a possible disturbance. Subjects were separated and no violence occurred.

On Feb. 5, Anderson received a call regarding a possible weapons disturbance in the 600 block of N. Jefferson.

Fraud

On Jan. 31, Currington spoke with a subject about fraud. The subject was out of La Grange jurisdiction.

Runaway

On Feb. 2, Meinardus responded to the 700 block of E. Pearl where caller stated she woke up and discovered her daughter had run away.

Reckless Driving

On Feb. 3, Wostarek was dispatched to the 200 block of E. Pearl in regard to a speeding vehicle; officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to locate any speeding vehicles in the area.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person

On Feb. 1, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of Hwy. 71 for suspicious vehicle. The vehicle had already left the area.

On Feb. 1, Currington was dispatched to the 100 block of W. Colorado for a vehicle running on the side of the bank which appeared to be unoccupied. Officer checked the vehicle and the occupant was in the vehicle and had a valid reason for being there.

On Feb. 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 400 block of E. Travis for a suspicious person. Officer upon arrival was unable to locate the person.

On Feb. 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of Holloway in regard to a male subject walking two dogs. Officer arrived on location and searched the area. Officer was unable to locate the male subject.

On Feb. 3, Zwahr searched the area in the 600 block of Sarah Jo for a suspicious person walking through the neighborhood. Officer was unable to locate.

Scam

On Feb. 1, Anderson responded to the 100 block of E. Travis for a possible scam.

Trespassing

On Feb. 5, Currington was dispatched to the 1900 block of State Hwy. 71 Business for trespassers that were soliciting. Managers wanted them off the property. Subjects were issued a criminal trespass warning.

Theft

On Jan. 31, Currington was dispatched to the 200 block of S. Reynolds for theft.

Welfare Check

On Feb. 5, Currington was dispatched to the 1000 block of Sunset to check on a subject. Officer made contact with the subject and he was fine.

Miscellaneous

On Feb. 2, Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of W. Travis in regard to a vehicle blocking traffic. The vehicle had let prior to officers arrival.

On Feb. 2, Zwahr received a call in regards to a trailer that had come unhitched from a truck at the intersection of E. Travis and S. Lester. Vehicles were gone upon officers arrival.

On Feb. 2, Zwahr responded to the 400 block of E. Travis to perform a wash down of the parking lot after a gas leakage from a pickup truck.

On Feb. 5, Currington responded to the 100 block of E Travis on subjects asking for money in the parking lot. Officer ran the subjects and advised them of ordinance.
