La Grange Police Report
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 3-10.
Accident
On Aug. 5, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 300 block of N. Horton for a one vehicle accident with damage to electric pole and stop sign.
On Aug. 9, Officer Jose Garza was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 regarding an accident.
Animal Complaint
On Aug. 3, Officer Darrell Armstead was dispatched to the 900 block of N. Jackson for an animal complaint.
On Aug. 6, Officer Steven Haynie was dispatched to the 1300 block of Old Plum Highway regarding a cow in the road.
On Aug. 9, Officer Jose Garza was dispatched to the 400 block of W. Colorado in reference to an animal complaint.
On Aug. 9, Meinardus responded to the 400 block of N. Main regarding a cat in a storm drain. Officer was unable to locate.
On Aug. 9, Meinardus responded to the 700 block of N. Madison where caller reported her dog got out and she could not locate it. It was a copper lab named Penny. Officer searched the area but was not able to locate the dog.
Animal Cruelty
On Aug. 6, Armstead was dispatched to the 200 block of Svoboda for an animal cruelty report.
Agency Assist
On Aug. 4, Garza was dispatched to the 1400 block of S. Highway 77 to assist the Sheriff’s office with an accident.
On Aug. 4, Garza was dispatched to the 300 block of N. Monroe in reference to an intoxicated caretaker.
On Aug. 6, Haynie responded to the 800 block of Country Club Drive regarding an agency assist.
On Aug. 9, Garza responded to the 200 block of E. Cedar for an agency assist.
Family Violence
On Aug. 5, Meinardus on an open line could hear a child and woman crying in the background and no answer on call back. Officer contacted subject, and she stated she was assaulted by children’s father.
Disturbance
On Aug. 5, Garza was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Washington for a disturbance.
Fraud
On Aug. 7, Investigator Troy Stevens spoke with an individual regarding someone fraudulently using his identity to obtain a loan.
Family Violence
On Aug. 8, Haynie was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Monroe regarding family violence.
Loud Music
On Aug. 8, Meinardus responded to the 800 block of S. Vail for loud music. Subjects were asked to turn it down.
On Aug. 9, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of S. Main for loud base music.
Parking Violation
On Aug. 7, Armstead was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Jefferson for a parking violation. Possession
On Aug. 9, Garza stopped a vehicle in the 1400 block of W. Hwy 71 Business for a traffic violation and expired registration and had possession of marijuana also.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On Aug. 4, Meinardus received a call regarding a loud bang, possibly a gunshot and an individual with dark clothing behind a dirt pile. Officer checked the area and was unable to locate anyone.
On Aug. 8, Meinardus received a call from an individual who advised a suspicious person from Bastrop was following her in the 2400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 Business.
Welfare Check
On Aug. 5, Officer John Wostarek was dispatched to the 600 block of N. Washington regarding a welfare check.
On Aug. 8, Garza was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Monroe for a welfare check.
Civil Matter
On Aug. 4, Officer Archerd spoke with a caller in the 200 block of Northpoint regarding a civil matter.
