La Grange Police Investigate Assault in May
La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of May 12-19.
Assault
On May 18, Officer Steven Haynie took information in the 500 block of E. Pecan regarding assault family bodily injury.
Accident
On May 12, Officer Thomas Keeney spoke with the reporting party about an accident in the 400 block of E. Travis.
On May 16, Keeney responded to the 100 block of S. Jackson and E. Travis for an accident.
On May 18, Officer Brett Meinardus responded to the 1800 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass regarding an accident.
On May 18, Sgt Travis Anderson responded to an accident in the 500 block of E. Colorado.
On May 18, Haynie was dispatched to the 2300 block of W. Travis regarding an accident.
Animal Complaint
On May 12, Haynie was dispatched to the 900 block of S. Jefferson regarding an animal complaint.
On May 13, Keeney spoke with a caller in the 100 block of E. Northpointe regarding an animal complaint.
On May 13, Meinardus responded to the 900 block of S. Madison regarding a dog bite at the location earlier.
On May 17, Haynie was dispatched to the 200 block of Lee in regard to an animal complaint.
Burglary of Motor Vehicle
On May 18, Sgt. Travis Anderson received a call regarding a burglary of a motor vehicle in the 900 block of E. Camp.
Civil Matter
On May 13, Meinardus responded to a call from an individual at the Sheriff’s office that wanted an officer to document transfer of children to their mother.
On May 15, Anderson responded to a civil matter in the 700 block of N. Eckel.
On May 16, Haynie spoke with a subject in the 900 block of E. Pearl regarding a civil matter.
On May 17, Keeney responded to the 700 block of N. Washington for a civil matter.
On May 19, Officer John Wostarek responded to the 1600 block of N. Jefferson on a civil matter.
Citizen Assist
On May 15, Anderson received a call for a male locked in the rear of a U-Haul and was having difficulty breathing in the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business.
On May 16, Anderson responded to the 900 block of S. Madison for a power line down, laying across the top of a vehicle.
On May 16, Anderson responded to the 900 block of E. Eblin about structure damage from the storm and someone possibly inside.
On May 17, Keeney spoke with a resident at the station regarding a citizen assist.
Criminal Mischief
On May 14, Wostarek spoke with complainant in the 200 block of S. Reynolds about information on criminal mischief.
Disturbance
On May 14, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of S. Jefferson for a verbal disturbance.
On May 17, Keeney responded to the 700 block of N. Washington for a report of a non-family disturbance.
Family Violence
On May 16, Anderson received a call for a 911 hang up and family violence in the 100 block of W. Live Oak.
On May 19, Wostarek was dispatched to the 700 block of E. Lafayette regarding a disturbance.
Fraud
On May 14, Wostarek spoke with a caller in the 100 block of S. Vail about information on fraud.
Harassment
On May 12, Haynie was dispatched to the 300 block of Diers regarding harassment.
Loud Music/People
On May 14, Wostarek was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Jefferson regarding a noise complaint.
On May 15, Anderson responded to the 700 block of E. Pearl regarding a group of people making loud noises.
On May 18, Meinardus responded to the 500 block of N. Monroe for a report of dogs barking. Officer checked the area but could not hear anything.
Parking Violation
On May 18, Anderson spoke with complainant in the 900 block of E. La Fayette regarding his vehicle being tagged.
Possession
On May 18, Haynie conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of N. Horton and conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. The subject was cited and released.
Suspicious Person/Vehicle
On May 12, Anderson received a call regarding a suspicious person in the 200 block of S. Jefferson.
On May 14, Meinardus responded to the 200 block of S. Jefferson where caller advised that someone was yelling on the property.
On May 14, Meinardus responded to the 400 block of N. Jefferson for subjects walking in the roadway.
Theft
On May 12, Keeney responded to the 100 block of Northwest Circle on report of a theft.
Traffic Hazard
On May 13, Wostarek was dispatched to the 100 block of Joe Hoeffer Circle regarding a traffic hazard.
Welfare Check
On May 12, Keeney responded to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business for a welfare check.
On May 18, Anderson received a call regarding a welfare concern in the 500 block of E. Colorado.
On May 18, Anderson received a call regarding a man who seemed to possibly have dementia in the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71.
Warrant Arrest
On May 15, Keeney responded to the 200 block of N. Main for a misdemeanor warrant arrest.
911 Hang Up
On May 16, Anderson received a call regarding a 911 hang up in the 100 block of N. Monroe in which there was a female yelling.
