La Grange Notes
Letter to the Editor
To the editor:
Fellow citizens of La Grange, On January 27, the La Grange City Council had their first meeting of the new year…finally.
Two weeks prior, I went to sign up for speaking at city hall and was informed that there was no meeting. This upset me because I had things I needed to talk about. But now I have more that I need to get off of my chest.
First up…Drainage JT (City manager Jack Thompson) told me the same old story. “We’re working on it” Secondly….My worries of our Fire Marshall, Frank Menefee, having to be sent to California to fight the brush fires was eliminated because I saw his smiling face. La Grange can rest assured because he has us protected.
Next up….I listened to a speaker explaining how JT is setting up a plan to increase tourism. Rockport is also employing this firm for their tourism needs.
I feel this is a bad idea because the Colorado River is not the same as the Gulf of America.
I am really feeling that at the next meeting I would still discuss drainage, but since it is more expensive than tourism walking trails and not a priority, I will turn my attention to pothole.
In closing I want to thank our La Grange police officers and EMS for responding in such a professional manner when my husband continues to call them because he has so many health issues.
Thank you and God Bless,
Teresa von Rosenberg La Grange
