La Grange Hospital’s Diagnosis? More Delays
The hospital in La Grange will undergo an inspection next week and hopefully reopen sometime thereafter, according to Fayette County Judge Dan Mueller.
Progressive Health Group of Mississippi, which purchased the hospital last year, had initially hoped to reopen the facility in the first quarter of this year. The company conducted extensive renovations since the purchase. The reopening date was pushed back to April and then June.
In a phone call with the Record last Friday, Mueller said bureaucratic hurdles have caused the delay.
“EMS Director Josh Vandever and I have been in contact with Progressive,” Mueller said. “It is our understanding that the Texas Department of Health and Human Services will be inspecting the facility on June 15.
“We anticipate that inspection to go well, and we anticipate that the opening of the hospital should come shortly after that,” Mueller added.
The Record reached out to Progressive Health Group for an update on the reopening plans, but they had not responded in time for this publication.
