La Grange Council Picks New Logo, And New Slogan: “Rooted in Texas”
The La Grange City Council met Monday night and selected a new branding package for the City, including a logo, tagline, mission and vision statements.
The City hired the marketing firm J.O. Agency earlier this year to develop a new brand identity for the City.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, representatives from J.O. Agency presented several branding options. The Council picked a logo called “The Shield.” It depicts the Bluff and a bridge across the Colorado River surrounded by trees and a blue skyline.
They chose the tagline “Rooted in Texas,” which alludes to La Grange’s iconic oak trees growing in the streets. The new logo will appear on city vehicles, employee uniforms and signs.
Council also chose a vision statement and a mission statement as part of the branding effort. The vision statement they chose reads, “The premier Texas town, where residents thrive, businesses flourish, and our deeprooted character makes La Grange undeniably unique.”
Council chose a mission statement that reads, “Honor our hometown charm while fostering business growth through strategic resources, economic development and community partnerships that make La Grange a model for the ideal small town quality of life.”
Christina Vela of J.O. Agency said the vision and mission statements won’t necessarily appear on marketing materials or city documents. Rather, she said, they provide principles to guide the City’s marketing efforts.
