Kolt Finds $637,000 in Fentanyl

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Monday the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Canine Unit, Sgt. Randy Thumann and K9 partner Kolt, stopped a Black Chevy Equinox on Interstate-10 at approximately 11:15 am for a traffic violation. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 7.2 pounds of Fentanyl. The Fentanyl was located in a suitcase that had been altered to conceal the narcotics. It had a street value of approximately $637,000. Jose Guadalupe Ramos, 45, of Mission was arrested for Felony drug possession and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
