Kolkhorst Named to 5 Committees

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced the committee assignments in the Texas Senate on Friday, Jan. 17. State Sen. Lois Kolkhorst has been a strong ally of Patrick, who serves as President of the Senate. He named her to five important committees in an announcement last Friday.

Kolkhorst will once again serve as Chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services, a role she held during the last legislative session. During the last session, Kolkhorst presided over the committee’s work to bolster funding for the state’s strained mental health system.

Kolkhorst will also return to the Business and Commerce Committee, Finance Committee, and Water, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. She served on all three during the last session.

This session, Kolkhorst will join the Senate Committee on Administration.
