Kolache Eating Champs at Heritage Fest

At the kolache eating contest at last Saturday’s Heritage Fest at La Grange’s Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, winners were crowned in four divisions, left to right – Zoe Janda in the girls division, Jeff Wick in the men’s division, Chrystal Wick in the women’s division and Alden Raney in the boys division. Far right is Brian Vanicek, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, who ran the contest. Winners were the contestants who ate their kolaches the fastest. The kids had to eat one kolache and the adults ate two. Kolaches were all cherry and provided by Weikel’s, and the contest was sponsored by SPJST.
