Kids Shoot, Run From Deputies; Two Captured

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on the evening of January 13 the Sheriff’s office received a call about shots being fired in the area of Anders Daniels Rd. and Citzler Rd. Deputies responded and met with witnesses who advised of a vehicle believed to be involved.

Deputy Arrison located a vehicle in the area and observed the occupants behaving suspiciously. Deputy Arrison attempted to make contact with the vehicle and it sped away. A brief pursuit ensued before the occupants of the vehicle exited and fled on foot. Deputies secured the vehicle which contained multiple firearms. They began a search for the subjects. After a search of the area two of the subjects were apprehended, a third subject was not located on scene but has been identified.

The parties involved were juveniles. “As such their identifying information is protected and we cannot legally disclose their identities,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

The subjects were placed into a juvenile detention facility. Further investigation into the incident is ongoing at this time.
