La Grange Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 will be taking pre-orders for barbecue turkeys for Thanksgiving. The turkeys are 16-18 lbs. and cost $60. If possible, please reserve your order before Nov. 19 by calling (979) 9685117. Pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 27 between 4 to 6 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican (FCRW) Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive, in La Grange. Lunch is available for $20. The guest speaker will be a representative from Texas Values. RT Hermann Sons Lodge Meeting
Round Top Hermann Sons Lodge will hold their monthly meeting on Nov. 21 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Social time is at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. A meal of lasagna will be served and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. The Christmas party will be Dec. 8. Rain Water Harvesting
The Round Top Family Library will present rain water harvesting on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Louie Sellers will be your host. Sellers will share some of the principles, methods, and knowledge. This is a free program. For more information, call (979) 249-2700.
La Grange Garden Club
The La Grange Garden Club November meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 21 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The speaker will be Kylie Zapalac, the La Grange High School Ag teacher. Ms. Zapalac will provide a presentation on the use of common backyard plants/shrubs for holiday decorations and care of holiday plants. Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting at noon. The Garden Club meets at the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange.
Christmas Craft Show
New Life Methodist Church located at 1215 N. Von Minden will have over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, quilting, knitting, jewelry, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts and baked goods on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Lunch and desserts will be available.
Senior Citizen Gaming Day
The Round Top Family Library will host a senior citizen gaming party on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 2-4 p.m. Light snacks will be served. This is free and open to the public.
CDA Court No. 1962 Meeting
CDA Court Annunciation No. 1962 of La Grange and Plum will be meeting on Monday, Nov. 25 in the Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz Center in La Grange at 6:30 p.m. Donations of assorted small toiletries will be accepted for Seafarers. Members are encouraged to attend and new members are always welcome.
Second Chance Thanksgiving Hours.
Second Chance Emporium will observe the following Thanksgiving hours: donations drop-off area will be closed Monday, Nov. 25 through Saturday, Nov. 30 and the sales store will be closed Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30.
Christmas Tamale Fund Raiser
The Shelby American Legion Post No. 602 will once again host their Christmas Tamale Fund Raiser of gourmet beef or pork tamales. Cost is $10 per dozen. To order, text (409) 739-4410. Deadline to order is Nov. 27. The expected delivery date is Dec. 5.
