Karstedt Crowned State Czech Slovak Queen

Miss Fayette County Czech Slovak Queen Madelyn Karstedt, daughter of John and Bonny Karstedt of La Grange, was crowned Miss Texas Czech Slovak Queen at the Czech Heritage Society Queen pageant on June 29.

Four queen contestants from across the state competed in private interview, on stage interview, kroj modeling, and talent events. She also received awards for private interview and kroj modeling. Madelyn will be attending Czech cultural events through out the state this year and will be representing Texas at the Miss Czech Slovak US pageant in Wilbur, Nebraska, next August. Madelyn is excited to represent Texas Czech heritage and is grateful for all of the support provided by her family and the Fayette County Czech Heritage Society. Madelyn has started making short videos on Czech heritage, history, cooking and events she attends.
