Juneteenth on the Square is June 13
For the past fifteen years, Juneteenth has been celebrated on the Courthouse Square, here in La Grange.
That will continue this year with an event on Saturday June 13 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The historical significance is the main feature of the event with the importance of ending slavery in Texas emphasized.
Entertainment will consist of Speeches, Gospel Music, Gospel Groups and Activities for the children. The Community, Past and Current City and County Dignitaries are welcome. Our goal is to have Juneteenth a major event in the Tri-County Area. Please Come Out celebrate with Us and help make this a successful endeavor. This year’s entertainment will consist of Pastor Leo Vaughn of Fort Worth Texas; Dr W L Watson and The First Baptist Church Choir from Taylor Texas, Soloist Cassandra Warner, and the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Praise Team.
Deejay Gus Gus will provide Dance Music and Karaoke. As usual, Chess, Dominoes, and Spades tables will be available for spirited competitors.
