The Juneteenth Committee hosted a big celebration at Randolph Rec. Center in La Grange last week.

Debra Steward was the event coordinator and sang at the event. Pastor Roy Green was the MC of the event and performed with the New Soul Invaders (pictured below left). On the keyboard is Gospel singer Leo Vaughns Jr., below right.

“The Juneteenth committee wants to thank everyone who helped us increase unity in this event by volunteering to make it great. There was Gospel music for everyone as well as great family functions for all, allowing people a time for peace and happiness with love. That’s our goal,” said Pastor Jonathan Ellis.

Walter Culberson is the new President of the Juneteenth committee and others involved in the planning were Liz Tilley, Norma Morrow, Linda King, Christy Johnson and Lorenza Crosby.
