Jail Visitation Halted After Safety Glass Broken by Inmate
The Fayette County Jail closed in-person visitation for inmates until further notice.
Lt. David Beyer of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reported that an inmate was visiting with his wife last week when he became irate. The inmate used a telephone handset to break the glass security partition in the visitation space, Beyer said.
Beyer said in-person visits will remain closed until the partition can be replaced.
