It’s An Uphill Battle Dealing With Mother Nature

It’s An Uphill Battle Dealing With Mother Nature

A huge dead pecan tree near the pathway down to the river at White Rock Park in La Grange dropped another of it branches recently. A walkway has been cut through the branch for visitors, but Monday, a city employee and a contractor were examining the area and trying to work out a plan to more permanently remedy the situation. The tree is very difficult to get to. The entire steeply-sloping area around the walkway makes for a constant struggle to keep back the encroach of Mother Nature. In other La Grange parks related news, there has been some online complaints about the lack of mowing maintenance in some park areas, but amidst the wetter-than-normal summer, grass is growing faster than it can be cut in some areas — but areas complained about online seemed to be quickly addressed.
