It’s Anybody’s Race as 95%of County Has Yet to Vote in Primary Election

In the midst of some very heated county elections, it seems lots of folks have yet to make up their minds.

Or at least they haven’t made their choice official.

Through the first four days of early voting in Fayette County last week, 543 people had voted in the Republican Primary (that’s 3.49% of the 17,548 registered voters here.) Another 67 had voted in the Democrat Primary (0.83% of the 17,548 registered voters here). That’s still well over 16,000

That’s still well over 16,000 votes that could be cast as we head to the stretch run up to Election Day. Early voting continues this week at the Fayette County Elections Office at 275 Ellinger Rd. in La Grange Tuesday, Feb. 22, through Friday, Feb. 25, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Then on Election Day, March 1, polls will be open around the county from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

A complete list of polling places and a sample ballot ran on Friday’s newspaper.
