Intoxicated Man Arrested For Stealing Food, Threats

Man Was Taking Food Into Bathroom and Eating it at Schulenburg Convenience Store Multiple Times

Schulenburg Police arrested a Georgetown man for public intoxication after allegedly causing a ruckus at The Texan Convenience Store.

According to a report from the Schulenburg Police Department, officers responded to The Texan on Thursday, Jan. 16, at approximately 7:51 p.m., for a report of a shoplifter.

“Officers located the subject in a restroom stall consuming the food he had reportedly stole,” the report said. “Officers observed multiple signs of intoxication when speaking with the subject and detained him for further investigation.”

The report said the individual “proceeded to shout racial slurs and other profanities at Officers and customers while being escorted to a patrol vehicle.”

Officers learned that the subject had been into the store multiple times and had previously stolen items as well.

“Due to the subject’s intoxicated state and theft, the subject was arrested for Public Intoxication,” the report said. “While enroute to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center, the subject who refused to provide a name made multiple direct and graphic threats towards Officers.”

Once at the Justice Center, the subject was identified as Aaron Moore, 21 of Georgetown. Moore was additionally charged with Obstruction or Retaliation for the threats made towards Officers.
