Indictments Handed Down

A Fayette County Grand Jury met on April 25 and handed down 10 indictments.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt. Rather, it is a formal accusation that a crime has been committed. A grand jury indicts someone when they find enough evidence to warrant a criminal trial.

Listed below are the defendants and the charges they face:

• Orlando Catano, 55 of Houston, for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, allegedly committed on Feb. 25.

• Octavian Mckenzie, 28 of La Grange, for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, allegedly committed on Feb. 12.

• Hector Aguirre, 25 of Austin, for possession of a controlled substance penalty group two, greater than or equal to one gram but less than four grams, allegedly committed Feb. 29.

• Keyshann Malik, 27 of Waelder, for possession of marijuana less than four ounces but greater than or equal to five pounds, allegedly committed March 19.

• Gary Schramm, 46 of Fayetteville, for deadly conduct discharge of a firearm allegedly committed March 11.

• Eliseo Sanchez, 47 of La Grange, driving while intoxicated, third or more, allegedly committed Sep. 26. 2023.

• Yelman Martinez, 28 of San Antonio, money laundering less than or equal to $2,500 but less than $30,000, allegedly committed Feb. 28.

• Kelly Knowles, 47 of Austin, theft of property, greater than or equal to $300,000, allegedly committed March 28.

• Xander Robertson, 20 of Baytown, possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram, allegedly committed July 27, 2023.

• J Tucker Britt, 25 of Houston, possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, greater than or equal to four grams but less than four hundred grams, allegedly committed Feb. 3.

All of the parties listed above are innocent unless proven guilty in court.
