House 85 Race Heads for Run-Off

The Republican primary for the Texas House District 85 seat will go to a runoff between incumbent Phil Stephenson and Stan Kitzman. The unofficial results in the four-way race were Stephenson with 40 percent of the vote, Kitzman with 34.5 percent, Fred Roberts with 15.7 percent and Art Hernandez with 9.8 percent.

Kitzman led the pack in Fayette County with 1,721 votes (36.77 percent), followed by Stephenson with 1,298 votes (27.74 percent), Fred Roberts with 1,201 votes (25.66 percent) and Art Hernandez with 460 votes (9.83 percent).
