Hospital Update

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development had stated Sept. 11 would be the day they would announce the buyer of Note Sale of the shuttered St. Mark’s Medical Center in La Grange.

Though an official announcement had not been made by HUD as of press time, Wednesday the Record learned via online documents that a Mark M. Young Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia, was listed as the successful bidder for the facility with a bid of $806,199.42 which amounts to 6.6% of the over $12 million which was owned to HUD on the hospital.

St. Mark’s closed last October amidst financial difficulties, and has been shuttered ever since.
