Home Catches Fire in Fayetteville
A home in Fayetteville caught fire Tuesday morning, March 8.
The home is located three doors down from Fayetteville ISD on North Rusk Street (SH 159). Fayetteville Fire Chief Randy Noviskie said firefighters got the call around 7 a.m. He said the fire started in a laundry room and spread to part of the kitchen and attached garage.
Noviskie said he was unable to determine what started the fire. The female homeowner reported hearing a lightning strike shortly before the fire started, he said.
The home and attached garage suffered extensive smoke damage. Firefighters were able to remove the woman’s vehicle from the smoke-filled garage.
No one was injured.
