Heinsohn’s Amazing Finds
La Grange resident Bob Heinsohn has been rockhunting around the local area for decades and he’s made some amazing finds. In the aftermath of a couple of articles we’ve had in the newspaper recently about the prehistoric mammoths that used to prowl this area, Heinsohn gave us a call and invited us to check out some of his finds. Pictured above is him holding up a massive mammoth vertebrae he found near La Grange.
To the right he holds up several framed arrowheads he’s found here. Heinsohn has also found a number of other fossils (ranging from large shells to what looks like an alligator’s backbone), and all manner of Native American tools around the area.
