Healthy Home Cooking Series Begins Oct. 3

Learn how to make ordinary meals EXTRAordinary by attending a Healthy Home Cooking Series which is being hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County. The workshops will start on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. and continue through Oct. 10 and 17. The programs will be held in Room 104 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange.

The series will have a focus on Cooking Well with Diabetes and healthy meals plus include hands-on activities, food tastings, and educational sessions on:

• Understanding Carbohydrate Foods • Reducing Sodium & Increasing Fiber in your Meals

• Making Recipes with Fat Better for You

• Celebrating Sensibly 

The cost of the series is $30 and scholarships are available upon request. To pre-register by Sept. 30 or questions, contact the Fayette County Extension Office at (979) 968-5831.
