Hatfield Earns Degree From International Academy of Sleep

On Saturday, October 26th, Dr. Larry Hatfield, DDS, of La Grange, was awarded a Diplomate degree from the International Academy of Sleep (IAOS) in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His award comes after successfully completing a rigorous year’s long program in Dental Sleep Medicine focused on the comprehensive treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

Over the 12-month term, Dr. Hatfield attended monthly virtual training sessions and quarterly in-person meetings held across the country where he furthered his knowledge on how to recognize, educate, and treat patients on OSA. Also, as part of the degree requirements, Dr. Hatfield presented a total of 8 completed case studies for peer review along with a power point presentation on public education of OSA.

This past July, he successfully completed the final written examination.

A member of IAOS since 2022, Dr. Hatfield was one of three doctors from his cohort to graduate from the advanced program. In August, he was named IAOS Member of the Month, and he and his staff have been recognized for their commitment and dedication to the program. Staff members Glenda and Donna are also well versed, educated, and trained in Dental Sleep Medicine, having attended all quarterly meetings alongside Dr. Hatfield as well as numerous online training sessions.

Dr. Hatfield is excited to continue offering this lifesaving treatment to the area as a trusted local leader with firsthand experience of OSA.
