Halloween Bingo Saturday in Ellinger

The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce will host a bingo event on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the chamber hall. Doors open at 4 p.m., kitchen opens at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be available. They will have a costume contest so come dressed in your Halloween costume. Categories are individual, couple, group (4+ people) and youth.
The next day, Sunday, Oct. 27 the chamber will be selling homemade chicken noodle soup. There will be a bake sale and donated items are appreciated. The drive thru line will start at 10:30 a.m. and quarts are $10 and gallons are $35, please bring your own pot or glass container. Homemade chicken salad sandwiches will also be sold. Thank you to E&P Refuge in Columbus for sponsoring this event.
Ellinger National Night Out Ellinger recently had the National Night Out on Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6-8 p.m. This free event was at the chamber hall with hot dogs and desserts served. The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department was represented and had two trucks on site. Also, Boy Scout Troup 204 was selling meal tickets for their upcoming fundraiser meal. Pictured left to right are Logan Sklar, Mike Schlabach, Jacob Nigh and Joshua Nigh in front. All enjoyed the evening visiting with neighbors and friends.
Ellinger VFD
The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department recently purchased some new rescue equipment. Thirteen members of the department gathered at the storage yard of Paul’s Towing in La Grange on Saturday, Oct. 19 for training on the use of this new equipment. The instructor for the training session was Todd Johnson of Metro Fire. Proceeds from the April fundraiser went towards the purchase of the equipment.
Shared Lutheran Ministry St. John in Ellinger will have All Saints’ Sunday worship on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 8 a.m. Brunch will be served afterward and all are welcome.
The confirmation class will gather at Lutherhill on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 12-4:30 p.m. Lunch will be served and the group will participate in teamwork games.
Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.
Brethren Church
Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Daylight Savings Time will end on Sunday, Nov. 3, be sure to set your clocks back one hour.
Hermann Sons
All Hermann Sons members that want to continue receiving the monthly newspaper should call (210) 2269261 ext. 325 or (800) 2344124 ext. 325. Otherwise, members will only see it on the website, on Facebook or by email starting Jan. 1, 2025.
Recycle Trailer
The Fayette County recycle trailer will be on the chamber grounds in the afternoon of Oct. 30. Bring your newspaper, glass, cardboard etc. to recycle.
