Greater Fayetteville Chamber Hosting Mixer Tuesday, Feb. 25

City of Fayetteville 

An election will not be held by the City of Fayetteville in May. The positions of mayor and the two open City Council seats are uncontested.

Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant funds totaling $3,545.22 have been approved by City Council for distribution to ARTS for Rural Texas. $1,500.97 will be applied toward a video production project and $2,044.25 will go toward advertising expenses for the upcoming Courthouse Music Series in March.

A grant in the amount of $10,000 from the Economic Development Corporation for distribution to the Fayetteville Community Center has been approved by City Council.

AMEN Food Drive 

Help support AMEN Food Pantry by dropping off nonperishable food items to Vintage Rose, Orsak’s and Joe’s Place no later than Saturday at 12 p.m. The food drive is being held by Fayette County Texas Exes. Remember, donations help feed hungry families and individuals throughout our community.

Gumbo to Geaux 

The chilly weather is the ideal time to grab some serious gumbo offered up by the Fayetteville/Ellinger KCs this Friday for only $15. The chicken and sausage gumbo with rice is doled out to-go only from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Parish Hall. Call (979) 249.6003 to order Mobile Food Truck

The Central Texas Food Bank truck at Waldeck Lutheraz Church recently distributed 4860 pounds of food to 89 families. Seven new families, including 14 children, were served. There was a highly successful volunteer turnout and everyone had a great day.

St. Paul Lutheran 

St. Paul Lutheran holds services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are recorded every week, rotating among four Shared Lutheran Ministry churches and posted on the Facebook page for the Shared Lutheran Ministry of Fayette County. Services are also featured on KTIM 89.1 Sundays at noon.

St. John the Baptist Catholic St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville holds Mass Saturdays at 6 p.m., and Sunday’s at 10 a.m.

St. Mary Catholic 

St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger holds Mass on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sunday’s at 8 a.m.

Fayetteville Brethren 

Worship services at Fayetteville Brethren are held on the second, third and fourth Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. An adult Bible Study is held before the worship service from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
