Grand Opening Festivities of New Exhibit at Faison House Saturday

The Faison Preservation Society has announced final details for the grand opening of the exhibit, “Thriving Through God’s Grace” this weekend.

The calendar of events for the Grand Opening of the N.W. Faison House’s African American exhibit are as follows: Saturday, January 18, 2025 12- 1p.m. – Private Viewing for Descendants of Freedman Peyton Faison 2-3 p.m. – Program featuring Stacey Bennett-Dwyer, Historian and Faison Descendant Descendants of Peyton Faison will share reflections of their ancestors 3 p.m. – Enjoy the house and meet the descendants African American historian, David Collins, will be on sight to autograph is book, African Americans in Round Top.

Light refreshments will be served.

Overflow parking is available at the Fayette Public Library and the Citizens on Patrol will be available to assist in crossing Highway 77.

The N.W. Faison House, located at 822 South Jefferson, La Grange, Texas 78945, is on the National Register of Historic Places at the state level of recognition for its social history.
