Gilbreath Wins Pair of Awards From Texas Tech Law School
Brenden Gilbreath, who is graduating this month from the Texas Tech School of Law, recently received two special awards.
He won the J. Hadley Edgar Trial Excellence Award and was also given an Award of Distinction as a Member of the Board of Barristers.
J. Hadley Edgar Trial Excellence Award is a prestigious honor presented by the Texas Tech University School of Law to a student who demonstrates outstanding performance in advocacy and mock trial competitions. It honors Professor J. Hadley Edgar, a renowned expert in torts and trial advocacy who taught at Texas Tech for 21 years.
The Order of Barristers is a national honorary organization recognizing graduating law students who excel in oral advocacy and brief writing through moot court, mock trial, and dispute resolution. It honors students demonstrating outstanding ability in advocacy, with members often selected by law school faculty for this top honor. It is widely considered one of the highest honors for law students who have excelled in mock trial, moot court, or alternative dispute resolution.
Gilbreath, a Fayetteville High School graduate, is the son of David and Jaimie Gilbreath.
