Fourth Annual “A Night at the Theater” Gala to be Held Feb. 8 at Windy Knoll
The fourth annual “A Night at the Theater” Gala will be held again at Windy Knoll near Round Top on Saturday, Feb. 8. The gala benefits the Fayetteville Community Center & Performance Theater project, where Phase I consists of rebuilding the historic E.J. Knesek Building on Fayetteville’s Town Square. With Phase I nearing completion, the fundraising focus has shifted to Phase II, a 150seat, state-of-the-art theater attached to the rebuilt Knesek Building.
The theme of this year’s event is “Speakeasy,” and the large crowd of participants should have fun giving a nod to the 1920s. Houston radio personality Sam Malone will again be on hand to emcee the event, bringing with him his special brand of enthusiasm. Tianna Hall and The Houston Jazz Band will entertain, as will some crowd pleasing “special surprise” acts.
Houston’s Vikki Vines, with Gallery Auctions, will call out the amazing line up of donated items for the Live Auction, from a hillside in Puerto Vallarta villa for eight couples overlooking the ocean to a mountainside house for three couples overlooking the Ft. Davis Mountains. Axe Antiques has again donated a historic set of dueling pistols from 1760, this time made by Europe’s most famous gunsmith family (who made firearms for Napoleon, the Tsar of Russia and the King of Bohemia).
Other crowd pleasers include a beautiful Richard Schmidt custom designed set of necklaces, cuffs and earrings, a private Black Cat Choir concert, a tequila tasting and plated dinner for 10 at the Houston home of Monica and Russell Ybarra (the CEO and founder of Gringo’s Tex Mex restaurants). And many more interesting Live and Silent auction items.
Based on the first three highly successful galas, the crowd of over 260 guest will experience a magical evening and go home having supported one of the county’s important civic projects. The gala has been a great way to be part of the process of seeing this project become a reality. There are still a few sponsorships available. Call Joan Herring at (713) 818-9766 for more information.
