Medicare Education

The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange. Check-in begins at 10:45 a.m. Lunch is available for $20. Program speaker will be Mr. Chris Russo, the founder and President of Texans for Strong Borders. Chris founded Strong Borders in 2022 after observing that while many special interest policy organizations exist across the conservative spectrum, no group was organized and actively pushing for Texas First border security and immigration policies at the state level. Tammy Rush will present a program Thursday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. at the Round Top Family Library of informative information and things you need to know as you sign up for Medicare. The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 10-11 a.m. Drive through only.

Czech Heritage Society Fall Meeting The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society fall meeting will be held on Sunday, Sept. 21 at 2 p.m. at the TCHCC in La Grange. The guest speaker will be Retta Chandler explaining the history of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center. Members are asked to bring a snack to share. Moulton Church Picnic

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will host their annual Moulton Church Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 21 with Mass beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church. A fried chicken and stew dinner will be served from 10:30 a.m. until sold out for $15 per plate. Dinein and drive-thru plates available to go. Meat to go will also be available. Ken Brothers will provide music from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. and Vic Rodriguez from 2-6 p.m. Other activities include a train ride, ball throw, fish pond, ring toss, cake walk, plant walk and country store. Hamburgers, sno cones, popcorn and more will be available. The auction begins at 1 p.m. and includes livestock, quilts, and hand-made items. A drawing for a grand prize $5,000 gift certificate will also be held. The Moulton Church Picnic is always the third Sunday of September.

Round Top Shelby Lodge Meeting The next meeting of the Round Top-Shelby Lodge will be Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Round Top American Legion Hall. Social time is at 6 p.m. with meeting following at 6:30. Meal to follow the meeting. Members bring sandwiches, cold cuts, salads or desserts, etc. to share. There will be no meeting in October due to the antique show. Items will be accepted for our upcoming Oct. 4 fundraising project. For questions, call (512) 736-9988.

The Alzheimer’s/Dementia Support group will be held monthly on the second Tuesday of every month from 10-11 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office, 1048 N. Jefferson, La Grange. Loss of a Spouse Support Group will be held monthly on the third Tuesday of every month from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office. Loss of a Child support group will be held monthly on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 1011:30 a.m. at the Hospice Brazos Valley office.
