Active Shooter Class

The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry will be at Waldeck Lutheran Church on Nov. 16. It is a drive-thru only from 10-11 a.m.

The Round Top Family Library will have an active shooter class with instructor Craig Moreau on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Light snacks will be served. For more information, call (979) 249-2700.

German Society

The Fayette County Chapter of the Texas German Society will meet on Monday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. at the Randolph Recreation Center. Glenn Altwein will be the guest speaker. Please bring a dessert or snack for refreshments.

FWS Meeting

Fayette Water Supply Corporation will be conducting a monthly meeting of the Board of Directors on Monday, Nov. 18 at 4:30 p.m. at the FWSC office located at 200 Bordovsky Road in La Grange. All members are encouraged to attend.

KC BBQ Turkeys

La Grange Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 will be taking pre-orders for barbecue turkeys for Thanksgiving. The turkeys are 16-18 lbs. and cost $60. If possible, please reserve your order before Nov. 19 by calling (979) 968-5117. Pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 27 between 4 to 6 p.m.

There’s more Popz Star Bar will hold a Chili Cook-Off at 982 E. Travis in La Grange on Saturday, Nov. 16. Cook there or at home, no restrictions on ingredients, $10 entry fee. $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. Turn in by 4 p.m. Judging will be at around 5 p.m. Free chili after judging. This is a fundraiser for the Giddings Library.

Turkey and Dressing Dinner

A turkey and dressing dinner fundraiser for Cristo Iglesia Redimidos Por Cristo made by Mama Reina (of Riverside Cafe) will be held Saturday, Nov. 16. Pick up your plates at 121 S. College from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 a plate and available at the door. Meal includes turkey and dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, gravy, cranberry sauce and bread.

Zoom Talk “The Battle of Adobe Walls”

On Tuesday, Nov. 19 at noon via zoom, Tammy Scarbrough, Lead Educator/Interpreter at the Goodnight Ranch Historic Site will discuss the Battle of Adobe Walls. She will explain that how after years of hostile actions from Native Americans and broken treaties by the U.S. government, things came to a head in the Summer of 1874 culminating The Second Battle of Adobe Walls. The Comanche force of 700 warriors, led by Quanah Parker, faced off against a group of 28 buffalo hunters and was the catalyst for the Red River War. VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary to Meet

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Fayette Memorial VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary of La Grange will meet in the VFW Post Home at the La Grange Fairgrounds. The Auxiliary meets at 5 p.m.; and at 6 p.m. the Post and Auxiliary will enjoy a meal after which the Post meets. Potential members are invited to attend.

Pork Steak Dinner

Court Annunciation No. 1962, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, will hold their barbecue pork steak supper on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Cost is $14 per plate. Republican Women General Meeting The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican (FCRW) Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive, in La Grange. Lunch is available for $20. The guest speaker will be a representative from Texas Values. RT Hermann Sons Lodge Meeting

Round Top Hermann Sons Lodge will hold their monthly meeting on Nov. 21 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Rain Water Harvesting

The Round Top Family Library will present rain water harvesting on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. Louie Sellers will be your host. Sellers will share some of the principles, methods, and knowledge. This is a free program. For more information, call (979) 249-2700.

La Grange Garden Club

The La Grange Garden Club November meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 21 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The speaker will be Kylie Zapalac, the La Grange High School Ag teacher. Ms. Zapalac will provide a presentation on the use of common backyard plants/shrubs for holiday decorations and care of holiday plants. Social time will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting at noon. The Garden Club meets at the Randolph Recreation Center located at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange.

Christmas Craft Show

New Life Methodist Church located at 1215 N. Von Minden will have over 26 booths filled with handcrafted items, quilting, knitting, jewelry, wood crafts, painting, primitive arts and baked goods on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Lunch and desserts will be available.

LHS Class of 1978 Reunion

The La Grange High School Class of 1978 is holding a reunion to celebrate its classmates 65th birthdays. Classmates are invited to the LHS 78 tailgate reunion to be held on Nov. 30.
