Flatonia Elementary Celebrates Award

  • Elementary Principal Laura Kutac, left, (who has been principal for seven years) said, “I am so incredibly proud of this prestigious accomplishment. This is a community award. It reflects the wonderful collaboration we have with all the stakeholders: faculty, staff, students, parents and community. Our faculty and staff are the very best around! They pour their hearts and souls into what they do every single day!”

Last week the U.S. Department of Education announced that Flatonia Elementary was one of only 31 schools in Texas to be named a National Blue Ribbon School, which highlights schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups. Above, the entire campus gathered to celebrate the achievement.
