Flatonia Baptist Church Members Travel to Bunde for Mission Work
M
Muldoon was well represented on the Flatonia Baptist Church mission trip to Bunde, Germany with four community members; Steven and Penny McFarlin, Lora Cherry and myself traveled to the village of Bunde to help put on a baseball camp and teach about the Bible for the area kids. It was a fun filled week of baseball with a sprinkling of mixing, mingling and touring around.
We were hosted by local families and worked with Hoffnugskirchde (Hope Church) for the camp. While there we got to learn and practice the German language in a baseball setting. One night was Texas Night. Penny and Steven made tortilla chips and salsa to serve while games and music was being played for some line dancing. It was a fun evening.
Muldoon Museum
Would you like to get involved with the Muldoon Museum and help preserve the history of the Muldoon area? Make plans to come out on Wednesday, Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. for the monthly meeting. Help is always welcome and it’s a great way to get to know the history.
Out and About
Nancy and Martin Cherry have been enjoying a visit from their daughter Anne Marie Cherry. Anne Marie was in from Georgia and catching up on all the family happenings since she was in Muldoon last and making a few trips out to see the cattle. She also was able to celebrate her nephew’s eleventh birthday while in town.
Nancie Blair took her grandchildren, Kelley and Valarie Schik and two great grandchildren Candence and Luke to Chrystal Beach to see their other grandmother Edna Schick. The group had a really good time with Cadence learning how to boogie board while they were there. She also got to build some sand castles all while everyone else was catching up and visiting.
Memorial Service
A memorial service to honor Jennifer Rightmer’s dad Will Howard, who passed away on June 7, was held on Saturday July 19 at the Church of Horseshoe Bay. Among those representing Muldoon and supporting Jennifer was Roberta Gullick, John and Debra Schwartzenburg and James Ivy.
