Fire in Rutersville Monday

A grass fire burned about three quarters of an acre off Ruether Rd. near Rutersville Monday, Feb. 17. The La Grange Volunteer Fire Department got the call around 11:30 a.m. The property owner told the Record he set a small brush fire that morning when the wind was still. But then a south wind picked up, which apparently blew some hot embers into a patch of dry grass. La Grange VFD responded with two grass trucks and a tanker. They put out the fire and there were no major damages. Photo by Andy Behlen
