Fire on Janssen Road Monday

A grass fire on Janssen Rd. burned about two acres of dry pasture Monday afternoon. La Grange Volunteer Fire Department received the call around 3 p.m. The property owner was burning some brush on the property. The fire got out of control and spread to the surrounding field. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. La Grange Fire Chief Franke Menefee the rain that fell last week did little to diminish the threat of wildfire due to all the dry vegetation killed by recent freezes. Photo by Andy Behlen
