Relay for Life
The Rotary Club of La Grange will be raising money for the victims of the California fires on Thursday, Jan. 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Mac’s Daqs located at 108 W. Colorado in La Grange. Mac’s Daqs will have a special drink menu for the event. A portion of the proceeds from the purchase of those drinks will go to the relief effort. There will be a bucket raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. The Rotary Club of La Grange will match funds up to $2,000. All money will be sent to the Rotary District 5280 Charitable Foundation.
Relay For Life of Fayette County will be having their first Team Captain meeting on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. in the La Grange City Hall Council Chambers. All Team Captains and anyone interested in starting a team please attend.
Writers Round Up
Faith Lutheran High School of Central Texas, located at 600 FM 1482 in Warda, is hosting their sixth annual Texas Lutheran Writers Round Up on Jan. 31, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Lunch is provided, and the public is welcome to attend this free event.

Adult Technology Training
Come join the Fayette Public Library in La Grange for Adult Technology Training on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. - noon. All computer questions are welcome. No one is born knowing this stuff. The Lions Sealy Dance Club is having a dance on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Sealy American Legion Hall. The band, Scott Wilkinson & EZ Country, will be providing live music from 7:30 - 11 p.m. The public is always welcome.
Movie For The Record in Flatonia
The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas invites the public to a free screening of the 2024 film “For the Record” on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m., at the Lyric Theater in Flatonia, 120 E. South Main St. The 35-minute documentary about the closing of a small-town paper in the Texas Panhandle will be followed by a panel discussion featuring local newspaper editors and publishers on sustaining a local, independent press in challenging times. All are welcome and encouraged to attend: no registration required, no admission charged.
Fayette County Czech Heritage Society Fayette County Czech Heritage Society will hold its annual Soup Social on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at TCHCC in La Grange. Members are asked to bring a big pot of their favorite soup or a snack/dessert to share. New potential members and/or guests are invited to attend and being of Czech descent is not a requirement.
Library Adult Crafternoon
Adult Crafternoon is back at the Fayette Public Library. Mark your calendars for Thursday, Feb. 6, from 4-6 p.m. Join for a relaxing afternoon with mosaics, mocktails, and a movie. Knights of Columbus Council No. 2574 will be hosting their Ladies Night on Friday, Feb. 7 at the KC Community Center in La Grange with the social starting at 6 p.m. Dinner and dance will follow with door prizes given throughout the evening. Casino Arts Association Dinner & A Movie The Casino Arts Association is hosting Dinner & A Movie on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Historic Casino Hall. “The Villain”, a western comedy, starring Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margaret and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be the movie shown. The tickets are $20 per person which includes cost of the movie and a delicious meal of King Ranch casserole, salad, chips, and dessert.
