Fayetteville City Council Race Decided By a Two-Vote Margin
The City of Fayetteville had a very tight race for Place 3 on the City Council. Unofficial results show Todd Campbell defeating John Heimseth by a vote of 34-32. In the other two races, Allen Jurecka was unopposed for Place 1 and Debbie Lincke was unopposed for Place 5.
• The Town of Round Top held a three-way race to fill two at-large seats on the Town Council. The winners were incumbent Lou Ann Phillips and Brooke Michie, who will be new to the Council. The vote totals were Phillips with 25, Michie with 26, and David Barr with 21. Mayor Judith Vincent was up for election but she did not have a challenger this year.
• The City of Ellinger held an election to adopt a 1.5 percent sales tax. It passed by a vote of 46-22.
